Town Approved for PDAP
June 29th, 2022

The Town of Spiritwood has been approved by the Provincial Government for the Provincial Disaster Assistance Program (PDAP) for the localized flooding through the town as a result of heavy rains June 23 & 24, 2022.

The Provincial Disaster Assistance Program will help our residents in restoring their properties to pre-flood conditions.

Residents are to contact their private insurance for coverages damages.  PDAP assists with uninsurable losses of essential goods to help people to get back to pre-disaster conditions, if eligible.  Residents are responsible for completing their PDAP application and submitting their claim to the  province.

The PDAP application instructions, guidelines and forms are available via email or at the town office. A request for a PDAP package can be sent to the town at tos@sasktel.net or call the town office at 306-883-2161.  Printed copies are also available at the Town Office during regular business hours.

Important dates:

  • Registration of Claims mush be returned to PDAP by Dec 24, 2022
  • Work must be completed by June 24, 2023

Property owners are to complete and return the Private Property Application form to PDAP as soon as possible.  Original applications are to be submitted and original signatures are required for PDAP claim files.

Spiritwood’s population is approximately 916, with the largest population for 80 km in any direction. Spiritwood is regarded as the hub of the geographic area. The total population of our trading area is between 6000 and 7000; this takes in a 30-35 mile radius.
