Spiritwood & District Health Complex (883-2133) was completed in the fall of 2001. This $3.6 million project included approximately 8,000 square feet of new construction, and 4,400 square feet of renovated space linked to former Spiritwood Hospital and Idylwild Lodge into one integrated facility.

Health programs and services offered through the Spiritwood & District Health Complex include acute and long term care, lab and x-ray, home care/case management, public health, addictions, mental health, dietitian, physio and occupational therapy and successful parents support program. Visiting specialists include psychiatry, podiatry, speech pathology, child psychology, physiotherapist, and chiropractic services.

Two full time physicians, who also provide visiting clinics in neighboring communities, serve the community. Spiritwood Ambulance provides emergency services to the community and area residents, and also provides training to Parkland Health District's first responders. Spiritwood Ambulance offers a variety of classes in First Aid and CPR.

Spiritwood is located in the center of an area that features six golf courses (3 grass greens and 3 sand greens), six regional parks and 35 lakes within 60 minutes with excellent fishing for perch, walleye, pike and trout. Its close proximity to an abundance of lakes and parks enhance the quality of life with camping, boating, fishing, golfing, hunting, cross country skiing, snowmobiling and hiking.
